The Lego Batman Conundrum

Oliver meeting Batman in London
A while back I posted a My Sunday Photo post of Oliver’s new found love of Lego and in particular the Batman range.

Well since that post that love for Batman has increased to the point he has actually asked for Lego Batman sets for his birthday this coming Thursday. The weird thing about it all is the fact we have actually not taken him to see the movie currently in cinemas for a variety of reasons, the main one being time, but the love for it has increased anyway.

It got me wondering where that love has come from, because although I do enjoy the Batman franchise and its various TV shows and movies Oliver hasn’t seen them on at home because my main love is Star Trek and that is what I tend to lean towards when I watch a bit of TV.

So where has his love of Lego Batman come from…

Well like all kids his age Oliver has discovered that Lego is fun, he is able to play with it at both my parents and Keighleys parents houses and he loves the idea of building things, he has also had some of the cheaper Lego alternatives that are on the market and has loved those as well.

The Batman side of it is where I get confused, he’s had very little interaction with things Batman. My only guess is that the adverts he has seen coupled with a DVD that Nanny bought of a previous Batman movie.

Hopefully Oliver will love what we have got him for his birthday and I know that I will definitely be spending around 2 hours one evening soon building the Lego sets we have got him.
